AI Visibility and AEO: Get Named in AI Answers

In an AI answer there is no page two. You are named, or you are not.

Assistants do not keep a secret list of businesses. They read your Google Business Profile, your site, listings, and what other sites say about you. When those sources agree, they have something solid to repeat.

Showing up when assistants answer local questions

People used to type a few words into Google and scroll a list. More and more they ask a full question and get one short answer. Ask an assistant for a good med spa in Scottsdale that takes walk-ins and you may see three names, or one. That is the problem AI visibility, also called answer engine optimization or AEO, addresses: helping these tools find you, understand what you do, and trust the facts well enough to repeat them.

What you do

A clear statement in plain words a customer would use.

Where you serve

Stated the same way everywhere.

Facts that match

Hours, phone number, and services identical across profile, site, and listings.

Pages that answer questions

Real questions people ask, not a list of keywords.

Outside mentions

Enough that the assistant sees a real, active business.

None of that is exotic. It is the foundation good local search has always needed. The difference is that AI tools are less forgiving. A human might work out that your old address is out of date. An assistant moves on to someone whose facts line up. If your profile is thin, your listings are messy, and your site does not say clearly what you do, fix that first. Most of the gain lives there. Our AI SEO Agent handles local search and AI-engine visibility together, since they are the same facts seen through two doors.

02

How AI visibility differs from search rankings

A search ranking is a spot on a list. An AI answer is a sentence the assistant writes after blending several sources. Treating the two the same leads people to measure the wrong thing.

Two different scoreboards

Search ranking

A position on a list

  • A keyword, with a number that moves.
  • Your own title and page are shown.
  • The click comes to your site.

AI answer

A sentence in its own words

  • No fixed position. Ask twice and the names can change.
  • Questions are longer, with details such as price range, hours, or a specific need.
  • Being described right matters as much as being found.
  • Often the answer ends the search with no visit to your site.

A business can rank well for its main service and still be missing from ChatGPT, or named for a service it dropped two years ago. We track the two separately. Rank Tracking and Reporting shows where you sit in normal results. AI Assistant Monitoring and Reporting asks the major assistants your customers' questions in several ways and looks at three things: are you named, how are you described, and which sources seem to shape the answer.

Ask it the question a customer would ask. If you are missing or described wrong, send us what it says.

03

Ongoing monitoring shows whether assistants cite you

A one-time check shows where you stand today. AI answers drift as sources change and models update. Without you touching anything, a directory can copy an old phone number, a competitor can publish better answers, or a model update can change which sources an assistant trusts.

01

Count the mentions

Whether you are named more or less often across the same set of questions.

02

Check the description

Does it still match what you do now?

03

Catch wrong facts

Old hours, a dropped service, or the wrong service area.

04

Trace the sources

Which sources feed the answer, so you know where a fix belongs.

Monitoring only matters if it leads to a fix. A dental office adds Saturday hours to its website, but the profile and two listings still show the old schedule, so an assistant says it is closed on weekends. The fix is to update the profile and listings, then check again. Be patient: assistants pick up changes on their own schedule. One location with rarely changing services and clean facts can check now and then. Watch closely when you add services, open a location, change your name, or work in a crowded category.

04

A local search audit shows where you stand today

Before anyone changes a profile or writes a page, you need a snapshot. A Local Search Ranking Audit is not a plan and not a promise. It sets the starting line, so later checks have something to compare against.

  • Your Google Business Profile: categories, services, hours, photos, and whether the description says what you do plainly.
  • Your directory listings, and whether name, phone number, and service area match each one.
  • Your website pages, and whether each main service has a page answering real questions.
  • Where you show up in local search for the services that bring in money.
  • What the major assistants say when asked about your kind of business.

The useful part is the gap list. A Scottsdale landscaper offers irrigation repair, but it appears once, deep on the About page, and no profile or listing mentions it. The audit flags that the business is nearly invisible for a service it sells. A good audit also ranks the fixes: ten minutes to correct old hours, real work to write pages for services you never explained. Do one after a move, rename, or new location.

Get the basics in place first

If your business barely exists online, AI visibility work will not do much. Assistants repeat what they can find, and with almost nothing to find there is nothing to tune. Two or more of these mean you need setup first, and most owners can do it themselves.

Setup first, or ready for visibility work?

Not yet

Do these yourself first

  • Your Google Business Profile is unclaimed or mostly blank.
  • Your only presence is a social page, with no site you control.
  • You have few or no reviews.
  • You are still settling on name, services, or area, or about to move, rebrand, or change your number.

Ready

A real footprint exists

  • A filled-in profile with categories, services, hours, and service area.
  • A simple site with a page for each main service.
  • One version of your name, phone number, and area used everywhere.
  • A steady trickle of honest reviews.

Paying for visibility work with no profile, no site, and three reviews on a social page is like painting a house before the walls are up. Once the basics exist, the gaps are harder to spot alone, such as a service assistants never mention. That is where outside help pays for itself. We work with businesses in Scottsdale, Phoenix, and nationwide.

$

What it costs

The price of AI Visibility and AEO depends on what you need, so we scope it with you before we quote. A short call is enough to get a number, and it never sits behind a form.

Four things move the price up or down.

  • Scope. A single team or process costs less than several departments in one engagement.
  • How many people or systems are involved. More staff to train, or more tools to connect, means more time.
  • How ready your information is. Clean, documented processes and data shorten the work. Scattered ones add prep.
  • What happens afterward. A one-time deliverable costs less than work that includes follow-up support or ongoing upkeep.

Whoever you hire, ask what is included, what counts as extra, and who owns the result when the work ends. Ask us for a quote.

FAQ

Questions we get

What is AI Visibility, or AEO?

It is the work of making sure assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews can find your business, understand what you do, and trust the facts well enough to repeat them.

How is AI visibility different from SEO rankings?

A ranking is a spot on a list. An AI answer is a sentence the assistant writes from several sources. There is no fixed position, questions are longer, and being described correctly matters as much as being named.

Can you guarantee a number one spot in ChatGPT?

No. That spot does not exist the way a Google ranking does. We make it more likely you are named and more likely what is said about you is true.

Do I need ongoing monitoring?

Not always. One location with rarely changing services and clean facts can check now and then. Closer watching makes sense when you add services, open a location, change your name, or work in a crowded category.

What if my business has almost no online presence?

Set up the basics first: claim and fill in your Google Business Profile, build a simple site with a page per main service, use one version of your name, phone number, and area everywhere, and ask happy customers for reviews.
